Executive Director, Networks and Technology, Telstra
Michael is the Executive Director for Network and Technology at Telstra, a role he commenced in May 2008. Network and Technology provide the planning, architecture, design and engineering capability for Telstra. Prior to this Michael was the Executive Director, Network Services. His responsibilities covered the operations and maintenance of Telstra’s networks for mobiles, fixed networks, broadband, satellite, transmission network infrastructure and managed services. In November 2007 he won the CEO award for Executive of the Year. Prior to his current role Michael has held a range of portfolios in Telstra that have provided him with an excellent platform for the role which he currently holds. Michael has also worked with vendors overseas and has had the opportunity to work in two U.S. service providers. Michael also holds two other positions external to Telstra: Director of the Telemanagement Forum. In addition to his role as director, Michael also chairs the operator committee which comprises 23 of the top service providers globally. Director on the board of 3G Infrastructure Sharing (3GIS), a company that provides shared 3G radio infrastructure to both Telstra and Hutchison in Australia.
